What Makes Us Worth the Short Journey
Westminster has plenty of grab-and-go options, but authentic Cantonese food is a different matter entirely. Everything we serve is cooked to order by our chefs using traditional methods, with ingredients sourced locally where we can and brought in from China where it matters. Nothing sits waiting under a heat lamp.
Our roast duck is the dish people come back for. We roast it fresh every single day, which is not something most takeaways bother with. We are also the only place in London serving proper Guilin rice noodles, a speciality from Guangxi in southern China. If you have not tried them, they are a good reason to place an order.
Our Takeaway Menu
The full menu is available for collection, so you can eat restaurant food at your own kitchen table. Popular choices include:
- Signature Roast Duck, available as a portion, half or whole bird
- Guilin Rice Noodles, with pork and beef, braised beef, braised chicken or vegetarian
- Handmade Dumplings, pan-fried or boiled, with five fillings to choose from
- All Day Dim Sum, including Har Gaw, siu mai and Shanghai soup dumplings
- Claypot Dishes such as beef brisket, braised pork belly and seafood tofu
- Stir-Fried Noodles and Rice, from Singapore noodles to our Bamboo fried rice
There is a full vegetarian section too, covering dumplings, claypots, tofu dishes and the vegetarian Guilin rice noodles. Please speak to us about allergens before ordering, as our kitchen handles gluten, shellfish, nuts and soy.

We are a few minutes from Victoria Station, so if you are travelling from Westminster by tube, bus or on foot, it is a straightforward stop to build into your journey home.

Getting Here from Westminster
Bamboo Basket is on Upper Tachbrook Street in Victoria, a close neighbour to Westminster whichever way you choose to travel.
On foot: It’s about 1 mile from Westminster, roughly a 20-minute walk. The most direct route runs along Victoria Street, straight past New Scotland Yard and Westminster Cathedral, before turning onto Upper Tachbrook Street just before the market. It’s a flat, easy walk the whole way, mostly along one road.
By tube: Westminster station is served by the Circle, District and Jubilee lines. The Circle or District line runs direct to Victoria in about 5 minutes with no changes needed. From Victoria station, it’s a 10-minute walk to Upper Tachbrook Street.
By bus: Several buses run along Victoria Street between Westminster and Victoria, including the 11 and the 148, putting you within easy reach of Upper Tachbrook Street.
By car: We are just off Vauxhall Bridge Road. From Westminster, the most straightforward route is along Victoria Street towards Victoria station. Street parking is available on Upper Tachbrook Street and the surrounding roads.
By bike: It’s a short, flat ride mostly along Victoria Street. Santander Cycle docking stations are available near Westminster station and near Victoria.
