Our roast duck is the dish people come back for. We roast it fresh every single day, which is rare for a takeaway of any size, and the difference in the skin and the meat speaks for itself. We are also the only place in London serving authentic Guilin rice noodles, a speciality from Guangxi in southern China. If you have not tried them, they are a good reason to order something new.

- Handmade Dumplings, pan-fried or boiled, with five fillings to choose from
- All Day Dim Sum including Har Gaw, siu mai and Shanghai soup dumplings
- Claypot Dishes such as beef brisket, braised pork belly and sea-spice eggplant
- Noodles and Rice including Singapore noodles, Char Kway Teow and Yang Zhou fried rice
There is a proper vegetarian section on our menu too, so nobody gets stuck with a side of plain rice. If you have an allergy, please tell us when you order and we will talk you through what we can do.

Head to our online shop, choose what you want and place your order for collection from 22 Upper Tachbrook Street, London SW1V 1SH. We are a few minutes from Victoria Station, so picking up on your way home from St James’s takes almost no detour at all.

Getting Here from St James’s
Bamboo Basket is on Upper Tachbrook Street in Victoria, and from St James’s you’re practically on our doorstep, about ¾ of a mile away.
On foot: It’s a 14–15 minute walk. Head down Petty France or Buckingham Gate towards Victoria Street, then continue on to Upper Tachbrook Street. It’s a short, easy walk through Westminster, mostly flat and well signposted the whole way.
By tube: St James’s Park station is on the District and Circle lines, both running direct to Victoria in about 2 minutes, one stop. From Victoria station, it’s a 10-minute walk to Upper Tachbrook Street. For most people coming from St James’s, though, walking the whole way is just as quick once you factor in getting down to the platform.
By bus: Several buses running along Victoria Street and Petty France, including routes serving Victoria Station directly, will get you within easy reach of Upper Tachbrook Street.
By car: We are just off Vauxhall Bridge Road. From St James’s, the most direct route is via Buckingham Gate and Grosvenor Gardens, or along Petty France onto Victoria Street. Street parking is available on Upper Tachbrook Street and the surrounding roads.
By bike: It’s a quick, flat ride through Westminster, taking in Petty France or Buckingham Gate. Santander Cycle docking stations are available at St James’s Park station and near Victoria.
